45th Wisconsin State USBC Senior Championship Kicks Off in the Stevens Point / Plover Area

The 45th Wisconsin State USBC Senior Championship officially got underway last Saturday in the Stevens Point / Plover area, welcoming senior bowlers from across the state for another exciting season of competition and camaraderie.

This year’s championship is being hosted at two great bowling centers:

  • Team Event: Skipp’s Bowling Center

  • Minor Events (Doubles & Singles): Five Star Lanes

The tournament runs through April 26th, bringing weeks of competitive bowling and reconnecting with friends from around Wisconsin.

Joe Bowler Tradition Opens the Tournament

Opening weekend began with the annual Joe Bowler tradition. Each year, one bowler from the opening squad is randomly selected to roll out the ceremonial first ball of the tournament.

This year’s Joe Bowler was Bob Schmidt, who had the honor of throwing the first ball to officially begin the 45th Senior Championship.

It’s always a fun way to kick off the tournament and celebrate the start of another great championship season.
